Through literature, Gateway students have the opportunity to explore different cultures, different worlds, and themselves.
Identity matters in Language Arts as we each bring our unique set of values and experiences to every text we read and paper we write. In fact, Language Arts at Gateway is an experience - many, many experiences - gained through a diversity of texts and media as well as authors and characters who give us the space to reflect and grow strong at evaluating and analyzing.
Reading and writing are also important skills for a lifetime, and we prepare students for both college readiness and the core abilities necessary to communicate well in any profession. While opening our minds to new perspectives Language Arts at Gateway broadens the reach of our abilities to synthesize ideas and connect meaningfully inside and outside of the classroom.
